Oh Jeongmin, Assistant Manager

Q. Could you please introduce your responsibilities or the projects you are working on?
The Equipment Technology Department is responsible for the specifications, contract negotiations, drawings, manufacturing, production management, installation, and commissioning of equipment ordered by our company. My main responsibilities are focused on design and production management, while I am also learning and acquiring additional skills in other areas.
Q. What knowledge or skills are required to effectively perform your duties?
A solid understanding of mechanical engineering is essential for performing my duties efficiently. Since most of my work involves managing drawings, proficiency in CAD software is also required.
Q. What are the advantages or appealing aspects of working for our company?
The company offers a variety of experiences that allow me to broaden my perspective, and provides strong support for books and training necessary for my work. Through learning and gaining experience, I have been able to grow significantly. Additionally, the company rewards hard work, which I believe is a great aspect. I have seen that putting in my best effort, even in small tasks, has led to positive results. Being recognized for my contributions motivates me to perform even better and serves as a stepping stone to further growth.
Q. Having built your career over time, you must have gained various experiences. How have these experiences helped you in your current role? Do you have any particularly memorable episodes?
Two years ago, there was an urgent project to manufacture new equipment. The parts we created were assembled at the in-house factory, and as the site manager, I was responsible for overseeing the assembly process. While working in the factory, I gained a quicker understanding of the assembly sequence and methods compared to just reviewing the drawings in the office, and I was able to identify potential issues during the assembly process. At the time, it was so cold that I wanted to go back to the office, but looking back, I realize that this experience was incredibly valuable. The lessons I learned during that project are still helping me in the equipment manufacturing work I am doing now.
Q. How do you primarily communicate and drive work forward? What do you consider the most important aspect of your work process?
As the saying goes, “Many hands make light work,” I believe that working together as a team is much more powerful than working alone. Depending on the difficulty of the project, we hold meetings once a day or once a week to cross-check our progress. This approach helps us quickly identify mistakes and resolve them, which accelerates progress.
Q. Where do you see yourself in the company in the next 10 years?
In 10 years, I hope to be a project manager who is capable of overseeing an entire project, from design and installation to construction and commissioning. Although I still have a lot to learn, I believe that by continuing to gain experience and develop my skills, I will be able to achieve this goal in the next decade. I am fully committed to putting my best effort into this process.
